Dearest gentle reader (even if not all of you are actually gentle) 😂,
Missed me and my writings?
Well… I missed y’all too! 🥹🥺
I miss y’all reading my blog posts and dropping your sweet sweet feedbacks, you know, the kind that makes my heart do a JimJim (a little happy dance 😂)💃🏽✨
So yes, I’ve been away for a while 🫣
Life was life-ing ( by now you’re probably very used to this line), but in those weeks of silence, guess what? I learnt a LOTTTT. And because I’m not selfish (even though I could be sometimes 😅), I’m here to share one of those goldennnn lessons with you.
Today’s rant? Love.
Yes, yes… I know. Love again?! 😂😂
But this one hit differently.
Okay let’s be serious
Let me ask you something real quick.
How do you say you love someone, like truly love them and still hurt them over and over again? 🥺
How do you do something you know will break them, yet still go ahead because, "oh of course, she’ll forgive me"?
Even if she does forgive you, does that erase the hurt? Does it undo the heartbreak? No, darling. It doesn’t. You still pierced her heart.
You can say “I’m sorry” a thousand and one times… but the wound still happened.
This is so common in relationships.
Friendships. Romantic stuff. Even family.
You say you care. You say you love them. But your actions , the disrespect, the betrayal, the lies, the silence when they needed you —say otherwise. And sadly, some of us only feel safe doing these things because we know the person we hurt has a soft heart. We rely on that. We take advantage of that. 😔🥺
But here’s the twist...
As humans, we somehow know this is wrong. We know we’re being selfish when we hurt people who love us. We even feel a little guilty.
Yet when it comes to God, our forgiving Father, we act like the rules are somehow different.
We say we love Him. We sing it. We post it. Some of us even shout it from the rooftops during worship.
But then… we knowingly go back to the same exact things that break His heart.
We keep doing what He asked us not to. Not because we’re weak but because we know He’s merciful.
Because we know He’ll forgive us.
We treat God's heart like a sponge for our sins, very soft, always absorbing, never complaining. But my dear, even sponges get worn out. Not because God stops loving us but because we stop understanding what love really means.
Love isn’t just about receiving forgiveness. It’s about not wanting to hurt the One who forgives you in the first place.
You wouldn’t want to keep piercing the heart of someone who loves you deeply, would you?
Then why do we do it to God?
This isn’t a guilt trip ( well if you think it is then it is cuz we’re all guilty). This is a wake-up call. 📞
Let’s stop taking His love for granted. Let’s stop hurting His heart just because we know He won’t stop loving us.
That’s not love that’s manipulation. And we can do better. We must do better. 💔🙏🏽
Thanks for reading, my not-so-gentle readers 😂💛
Let me know your thoughts, feelings, deep sighs and reflective emojis in the comments 💬✨
Until next time… please love better. And please, stop piercing His heart.
With all my love,
Me. 🫶🏽💌
