It starts with your portal. You refresh your portal for the 100th time, your heart pounding like the intro of an Afrobeats banger. Then boom—Your NYSC Posting Letter Is Out!
You open it with shaky fingers, whispering, “God abeg, not Zamfara.” But the next thing you see is:
STATE OF DEPLOYMENT: ZAMFARA! πππ
You blink. Refresh the page. Close one eye. Open it again. Maybe NYSC made a mistake? But no, your name is there, in full government-issued glory. ππ
At this moment, two types of people exist:
1. The “God did!” gang who got posted to Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Can God Influence Your NYSC Posting? π€ or any place with fast network.
2. The “God, why me?” “God Abeg” gang currently using Google to check if their state has an airport—or electricity. (This was me ππ).
But let’s get into it. Did God really choose your posting, or is NYSC just playing Ludo with people’s destinies?
The “Lagos or Nothing” Prayer Warriors ⛪πΎ✨
For many Nigerian youths, NYSC posting is a spiritual battle. People fast like they’re auditioning for Mount Sinai. Some sleep with their call-up letter under their pillow, whispering “Holy Ghost fire, direct me to Lagos”. Others pour anointing oil on their laptop before checking the email.
But then—bam! You fasted, you prayed, and still… NYSC said “Go and experience village life.” ππ Meanwhile, your friend who didn’t pray AT ALL got posted to Abuja. So, what happened?
Does this mean God ignored your prayers? Or is NYSC just doing ini-mini-miny-mo with people’s names?
Is Your Posting Automatically God’s Will? π€·πΎ♀️
Now, some people believe that wherever they get posted is God’s divine plan for them. “If NYSC sends me to a remote village, then it means I have a purpose there.” Fair enough. Maybe you’re meant to meet someone, start something big, or even just learn patience while queueing for network.
BUT… hear me out.
What if the place you’re posted to is unsafe? What if there’s no good healthcare? What if you just know in your spirit that you shouldn’t be there? What if the insecurity levels are up there? Does that still mean it’s God’s will?
Not necessarily. Let’s be honest—NYSC is not some prophetic organisation. It’s literally a government scheme with an algorithm shuffling names. Sometimes, where you land is random, not destiny.
That’s why you have relocation options. If your spirit, common sense, or even Google search is telling you “This place is not for me”, move. God also gave us wisdom. There’s nothing unspiritual about choosing safety.
NYSC Posting: A Blessing or Just Vibes?
One thing is for sure—NYSC posting can change lives.
Some people get posted to places they never imagined and find opportunities they never expected. They meet mentors, land great jobs, or even start businesses.
Others? They get posted to places where the only “opportunity” is learning how to survive power outages and overpriced food.
So, is NYSC posting truly a divine assignment, or is it just a random placement with a sprinkle of luck?
Final Verdict: Did God Pick Your Posting?
Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe it was divine placement. Maybe NYSC’s system just threw a dart at a map. Either way, you’ll survive.
And if you really don’t like your posting? Relocate. Hustle. Find your way to where you need to be. God’s will is not always about where you are—it’s about who you become wherever you go.
So, tell me—where did NYSC post you? Did you feel God’s hand in it, or did NYSC serve you breakfast? Let’s gist in the comments! ⬇️π

I was posted to Kwara state. I alreeady told my dad to back off in working it. I knew I would serve in Kwara state when I was in 300 level. I didn't know the exact town. While I was in Orientation camp, we were asked to choose our PPA, a privilege offered to active OBS crew and some other units in camp. I didn't know where to choose but I was posted to Ilorin, the state capital. I was posted to a secondary school because I studied education and the place was very far to where I stay considering Ilorin's sun. Omo! I worked myself to Unilorin ASAP!
ReplyDeleteNYSC is a two way thing. Allow God and use your brain. For someone who started working, you'll leave a well paying job for NYSC. After NYSC, what's next?? Okay o!
Leaving a well paying job for NYSC keππ
